Sunekos skin boosters are injectables designed to help skin look healthier, smoother and better hydrated. They do not add volume or change your features. So they suit people who want to improve skin quality in a subtle, natural way. At our doctor-led clinic in Ipswich, we offer Sunekos 200 and Sunekos 1200 to adults over 18.

What are Sunekos skin boosters?

Sunekos combines hyaluronic acid with a blend of amino acids. Hyaluronic acid is a substance your skin makes naturally to hold on to water. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, including collagen and elastin.

The idea is to provide hydration plus some of the raw materials your skin uses to maintain itself. That is why Sunekos is called a skin booster rather than a filler. You can find more about the product range on the official Sunekos website.

Sunekos 200 and Sunekos 1200: the difference

Both versions contain hyaluronic acid and amino acids. However, they are formulated for slightly different needs.

  • Sunekos 200 is a lighter formulation. It is often used for fine lines, crepey texture and dehydrated-looking skin, including around the eyes.
  • Sunekos 1200 contains a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid. It is typically used where loss of firmness is more noticeable, such as the face and neck.

At your consultation, we recommend the version, or combination, that suits your concerns.

What can Sunekos skin boosters help with?

Sunekos may help with:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Crepey or thinning skin
  • Dull, tired-looking skin
  • Loss of firmness and elasticity
  • The look of the under-eye area, where skin is especially thin

How does it work?

The hyaluronic acid in Sunekos helps hydrate the skin. Meanwhile, the amino acids support the processes your skin uses to renew collagen and elastin. Together, they aim to improve the skin’s overall condition. Because changes build gradually, results usually look natural.

Your Sunekos appointment in Ipswich

Consultation first

We begin with a full consultation, covering your medical history, medicines and goals. Then we check that Sunekos suits you and create a personalised plan. If another treatment would suit you better, we will tell you.

The treatment

First, we cleanse your skin. Then we place Sunekos with a series of small injections, sometimes using a fine cannula.

How long it takes and how it feels

Treatment usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes. Most people feel a brief stinging or pinching sensation. Numbing cream may help, and we check in with you as we go.

Downtime and aftercare

Most people return to normal activities the same day. Small bumps at the injection points are common and usually settle within a day. In addition, mild redness, swelling or bruising can happen, especially around the eyes. This typically fades within a few days.

For the first 24 hours or so, we usually advise you to:

  • Avoid make-up on the treated area for several hours
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and alcohol
  • Avoid rubbing or pressing the area
  • Wear a broad-spectrum SPF, such as Obagi Sun Shield SPF50

How many sessions, and when will I see results?

Sunekos is usually given as a course of several sessions. These are often spaced around a week or two apart. The exact number depends on your skin and the version used, so your practitioner will advise. After that, maintenance treatments can help keep the benefits.

Some people notice their skin looks more hydrated soon after treatment. Improvements in texture and firmness tend to build over the following weeks. Results vary from person to person.

Is it right for me?

Sunekos can suit many adults who want better skin quality without changing their features. However, it may not be suitable, or you may need to wait, if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have an active skin infection, cold sore or inflammation in the area
  • Have a known allergy to any of the ingredients
  • Have certain medical conditions, including some autoimmune conditions
  • Have a bleeding disorder, or take certain medicines, including blood thinners

Your consultation is the place to talk this through. Please share your full medical history so we can advise you safely.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sunekos the same as filler?

No. Sunekos is not designed to add volume or reshape the face. Instead, it aims to improve hydration and skin quality. If you want volume, read about dermal fillers.

How does Sunekos compare with Profhilo?

Both are hyaluronic acid-based skin boosters. However, Sunekos also contains amino acids and is given as a course of closer-together sessions. Read more about Profhilo, or see our full guide to choosing the right skin booster.

Can Sunekos be used under the eyes?

Sunekos 200 is often used to improve the look of crepey skin around the eyes. Polynucleotides for the eyes are another option. We assess your eye area before recommending either.

Can I combine Sunekos with other treatments?

Often, yes, as part of a wider skin plan. We will advise on timing.
